As president of PNL, Nicolae Ciucă was in Gorj on Thursday, for a debate about the development objectives of the county.
Ciucă said that he wants the transformation of Gorj to mean the diversification of the economy, the reduction of gaps compared to other administrative units, but also higher incomes for the inhabitants.
„Gorjul has the largest allocation among the six beneficiary counties of the Fund for a Just Transition. Such a concept means to develop our economies, but without putting a burden on the shoulders of those who have toiled and work hard to ensure the energy that keeps them alive. We have almost 900 million euros invested in the Oltenia Energy Complex – in Gorj and Dolj counties – from the Modernization Fund. I am also convinced that the Craiova – Târgu Jiu expressway will be a real development highway for Gorj. So this is the liberal vision: to make investments that matter and that will last over time, but also to take care of people’s jobs and continue to increase incomes“, said Nicolae Ciucă.
He conveyed to those present that the political stability that Romania currently enjoys is the “guarantee of effective governance”, and, in this context, the governors have the duty to transfer development from the national level to the regions and counties and beyond to every family in the country.
