The meeting would be a significant move in US efforts to counter China’s growing influence in the strategically important region and comes after Biden hosted Pacific island leaders at the White House in September.
The Quad Summit will be held in Sydney on May 24, attended by the leaders of India, Australia, Japan and the United States, the Australian government announced.
