This is the first strangeness: how he spoke, even praised her”, said the publicist on Friday evening, on the show Gândurile lui Cristoiu, on SMART TV.

Ion Cristoiu claims that Wednesday’s telephone conversation between Xi Jin Ping and Volodimir Zelenski represents a huge victory for China and offers an argument to European countries that want to have relations with Beijing, despite the US’s position towards the Chinese and the war in Ukraine.

“The fundamental problem was that Zelenski was not supposed to speak. It is a huge victory for China. Because the European states that want relations with China will say, me if Zelenski also spoke. In everything the EU states do, they are led by the star that is in Kiev. What they said: since enemy no. 1, the one resisting the Russian invasion, is talking on the phone with one of the members of the military coalition… I don’t know who advised Zelenski to talk on the phone with Xi Jin Ping. There are two possibilities. It is clear that Zelenski was a kind of Marshal Antonescu with Hitler in relation to America. It did not come out of the word of America. Or he got approval from America, I can’t figure out why.(…) It is possible that Zelenskiy talked to Xi, despite advice to the contrary from the US. If I were in Zelensky’s place, I would have done the same. There is also a third possibility, namely that the Americans agree because at the present time there is a deadlock in the war in Ukraine, a situation with no way out. Ion Cristoiu also says that, if Zelenski had not spoken on the phone with Xi Jin Ping, and the Ukrainians had started a campaign to attack China, it would have been difficult for European leaders to do business with Beijing.

“I am surprised that this conversation was not considered a big moment because it legitimizes China. She needed an argument. The argument for Macron, for Scholz to do business is: well, if Zelenski also spoke. This conversation was vital. Because if the Ukrainians started a campaign against China that they are aggressors, it would be difficult to do business because public opinion would react,” the publicist claimed.

Ion Cristoiu does not rule out that Zelenski’s discussion with Xi Jin Ping is a signal that the leader from Kiev has found a peacemaker in China, with which the Americans also agree, because in this way they would get out of the deadlock created in the war in Ukraine.

“The only way out is, also for the Americans, to find an arbitrator. That is to say: well, we cannot tell Zelenski to finish. Zelenski finally found an arbiter, a peacemaker. And America says: well, he found Zelensky. If Zelenskiy thinks he trusts China, let him. And in this way they also get out, because they are also in a jam”, said the publicist.
