Statistics show that 456,082 passengers flew in one day, Sunday, April 30. On the same day, 2,978 planes took off from the whole country.
“Domestic passenger traffic skyrocketing post-pandemic reflects India’s high growth,” Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted.
India’s post-pandemic economic recovery has boosted travel. Over 37 million passengers were transported by domestic airlines in the first three months of the year alone.
It is an increase of 51.7% compared to last year, the data of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the country showed.
