The administration in Kiev communicated, on Wednesday afternoon, that it is not involved in any way in the attempted drone attack that targeted the headquarters of the Russian Presidency, an incident qualified as a “terrorist act” by the authorities in Moscow.
“Ukraine is not involved in any way in this drone attack. These accusations staged by Russia must be considered as an attempt to prepare the context to serve as a pretext for a large-scale terrorist attack on Ukraine”, said Mihailo Podoliak, advisor in the framework of the Presidency of Ukraine, quoted by the daily newspaper Le Monde.
“Such an attack by Ukraine would not solve any military problem. On the contrary, it would instigate Russia to more radical actions against our civilian population. The appearance of unknown drones at energy targets or at the Kremlin can only indicate underground activities of the local resistance forces. As you know, drones can be purchased from any military subcontractor,” Podoliak emphasized.
Groups from Ukraine tried to attack the headquarters of the Russian Presidency with drones, the Russian authorities announced on Wednesday, denouncing a “terrorist act”, in the context of the military conflict that broke out through the Russian military invasion. “During the night, the Kiev regime tried to attack the Kremlin headquarters with drones. Two unmanned aerial vehicles were used, which were shot down by using radar systems. No damage was reported,” the Russian Presidency said, according to Interfax agency.
The Kremlin considers the incident as a “terrorist act” that would have targeted President Vladimir Putin, according to The Associated Press agency. “Russia reserves the right to retaliate at the right time and in the right place,” warned the Russian Presidency.
