The Joseph Biden administration will temporarily deploy 1,500 more US troops to help civil authorities secure the US border with Mexico, a Washington official said on condition of anonymity, according to Reuters.
The addition of American military forces is part of the preparations for the intensification of immigrant expulsions, in the context in which Washington will cancel on May 11 all anti-epidemic restrictions, which will allow immediate transfer actions to Mexico for any situation of illegal border crossing.
The Republican opposition constantly criticizes the passivity of the Biden Administration regarding the fight against immigration.
The 1,500 soldiers who will be deployed to the US-Mexico border will provide assistance to the Border Police.
