Two female students were injured on Wednesday afternoon after being attacked by an individual in a school in the German city of Berlin, say sources from the intervention services.
An individual attacked several people with a knife in a primary school located in the Neukölln district of Berlin.
Two schoolgirls, aged seven and eight, were seriously injured in the attack, one presenting a life-threatening condition, say medical sources quoted by RBB24.
The author of the attack was immobilized and detained, the German Police announced, according to the Berliner Zeitung publication.
Numerous police teams and ambulances went to the scene. The authorities are trying to find out the reason for the attack.
