“Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă met, on Thursday, at the Victoria Palace, with the president of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Faisal El-Fayez. On this occasion, the opportunities for developing bilateral relations in fields such as economy, trade, agriculture, education or defense were discussed. The high officials emphasized the importance of the role played by both countries in the region. During the dialogue, the consequences of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine were analyzed, both from the perspective of security and in terms of affecting the operation of supply chains”, the Executive says.
According to the quoted source, Ciucă presented details regarding ensuring the transit of grain from Ukraine and our country’s involvement “in ensuring the food security of countries where Ukrainian agricultural production is essential”.
“At the same time, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă conveyed our country’s interest in creating a hub for Romanian agricultural products in the Aqaba port area and Romania’s willingness to use more agricultural fertilizer produced in Jordan. The Prime Minister of Romania presented the opportunities that Romania can offer to Jordanian investors from the perspective of the relationship with the European Union. Underlining the need for stability in the Middle East and North Africa, the prime minister appreciated the role played by Jordan, showing that Romania encourages dialogue in the region and from the perspective of the good relations our country has with both Israel and Palestine. The Prime Minister also expressed thanks for the support provided by Jordan in the repatriation of Romanian citizens from Sudan”, it is mentioned at the end of the press release.
