Karine Jean-Pierre, spokeswoman for the US Presidency, announced to Reuters that the new assistance package includes ammunition and additional military equipment.
“We will focus on munitions and dispersal capabilities to help Ukraine breach Russian defense lines,” said John Kirby, the National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator at the White House.
“The new assistance package will help Ukraine continue to bravely defend itself against Russia’s brutal, unprovoked and unjustified war. Russia could end the war today. Until Russia does so, the United States, our allies and partners remain united with Ukraine, as long as it will be necessary”, declared, for his part, the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
The new military assistance package includes ammunition for HIMARS mobile artillery installations, howitzer systems, artillery shells, mortar shells, guided missiles, anti-armor systems, demolition ammunition and small arms.
