Marcel Ciolacu was asked by journalists when he thinks that the reform of special pensions could be completed, so that Romania does not lose money.
“It is in the milestone, it is in the payment request number 3. Payment request number 3: the deadline has now been exceeded, I assume that the minister from MIPE will say why we do not have the closed law either, it is the last report from the World Bank that is in approval now in the World Bank board with the new requirements on the law already passed in the Senate. I will not give up until we pass the law with special pensions. If she goes to the Chamber while I am president, there is no problem and we already have the feedback from the Commission on the law that it meets the milestone set in the PNRR”, says Marcel Ciolacu.
He is playing his future mandate as prime minister on an assumption law in Parliament.
“If not, and we have not fulfilled this milestone and I will be the prime minister of Romania, I will come up with a law to assume responsibility before the Parliament, so that either the law passes or I go home. I think I was as clear as possible”, says Marcel Ciolacu.
By the end of May 2023, the government rotation will take place, when the president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, will take over the position of prime minister from the president of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă.
