Publicist Ion Cristoiu says that several ministries will keep their holders and after the government reshuffle at the end of this month, an outsider will come to Finance, and the liberals will not risk it and will keep Lucian Bode in the Interior, with the agreement of President Klaus Iohannis.
“I think that two ministries can remain with the current holders. It’s Transport because the current minister has a lot of projects, you have to follow them. If a new one comes, he doesn’t know where to get them. And it is not so important that a new minister comes because if a penelist comes he can do nothing but continue the projects already started. And in Justice, which should go to PSD, none of the parties would like a change. The PSD would wake up with a hot potato, a Justice that is totally subordinated to Klaus Iohannis, and then it is clear that if he were a PSD minister, a pesedist measure would be expected from him”, said the publicist on Friday evening, on the Gândurile show Cristoiu from SMART TV.
Ion Cristoiu also says that the PNL has no interest in giving the Ministry of Justice or taking over the Finances, which could prove to be a hot potato in the next period, the likely option being that someone outside the two parties will lead it.
“The PNL has no interest in giving Justice because it belongs to Iohannis. Predoiu is not the PNL minister, he is the minister of the Cotrocens, he does whatever he wants. And the Finances think that Cotroceniul will want them. Probably Education too. Because there are councilors at Cotroceni who want to be positioned. But not only that. And the two parties have an interest in having someone in Finance who is not theirs. If it goes to the PNL, the PNL really wakes up with a hot potato because there will be problems in Finance during this period, and the PSD loses some of its power”, explained the publicist.
Ion Cristoiu does not believe that Iohannis will violate the PNL-PSD agreement and will not appoint Marcel Ciolacu as prime minister because a political crisis would give him headaches, create external problems, and also set a precedent.
“Speculations that Iohannis could appoint someone other than Ciolacu, because the agreement does not specify who will be prime minister… he will not allow it. For several reasons. Klaus Iohannis does not want to have trouble. Having a constitutional crisis now, a political crisis is a headache. The guarantor powers, those from above, do not need problems in Romania now and last but not least this agreement was guaranteed by him. From my point of view, it would be a huge mistake if it were not respected because from now on it would not be respected. It would create a precedent that no agreement is respected in Romania”, explained the publicist.
In his opinion, there are ministries that are related to some Western chancelleries, such as Foreign Affairs and Agriculture, which is why their holders could be kept in their positions after the rotation.
“I don’t think he is changing Aurescu. He cannot change it because it is not up to him. It is higher in Aurescu degree. In my opinion, a few ministries, including Agriculture, are clear to me now, that’s why Chesnoiu was removed, which is very important now with cereals, and the Foreign Affairs are neither of the president, nor of the PNL and PSD. I say it realistically. And you, if you were a Western chancellery, cannot rely only on the president (…) if you rely only on the president, you may have a surprise”, the publicist claimed.
Ion Cristoiu also says that the biggest problem of the rotary is the replacement of the Minister of the Interior, Lucian Bode, who would destabilize the PNL because of the position of general secretary and the status of de facto leader of the party, which is why Klaus Iohannis will no longer ask to be changed.
“The biggest problem of this magazine is Lucian Bode (…) Klaus Iohannis claimed at one point that he hopes that Bode will solve his problems with plagiarism. Resigning Bode is a big problem because Bode is not Bode the minister, he is the general secretary of the PNL and practically the head of the party, which Nicolae Ciucă is not. If he replaces Bode from the position of interior minister, his position as general secretary is also threatened. He made about 6 deputies there, a well-organized machine, it also looks good in the press, and then I think Iohannis will forget and stay. I don’t think they will change it. What, he has to answer to someone? Well, how can they ask him questions when he’s gone all the time. Now he is in Great Britain, from there he goes directly to Germany where he has to receive an award and then he has to go to Israel to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of this state. And after that, he goes on leave, because the Parliament also comes. And if someone gets rid of Pahonţu and asks a question, he will say: sir, it’s a matter of the party, I don’t get involved”, explained the publicist.
Ion Cristoiu does not believe that the PSD will settle the government because Marcel Ciolacu has prepared in advance the moment of the rollover, and the announced and unhonored measures will be blamed on the PNL.
“Marcel Ciolacu started the campaign of about three months to prepare the moment of the ring road through all those announcements, ideas with progressive taxation, which are from the left. His big problem is to keep his own electorate. If he comes to power, he will continue, that it would be nice to have progressive taxation, but it cannot be done because of the PNL. I think he took security measures so as not to settle the government. It will depend very, very much on the ministers. I believe that both parties must follow the name of the ministers. To bring out the best, and especially in the media, and not to be the new ministers with problems”, said the publicist.
