Amber Hall was excited when she bought her four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Centennial, Colorado, but she didn’t know it was already occupied by “unwanted guests.”
The 42-year-old mother of two thought the property would be the perfect home for her children and their two dogs – until she discovered a massive snake infestation while moving in.
The woman told Denver 7 that one of her dogs made the first discovery: “I was trying to unpack and my dog crouched down and started walking very slowly. I went over to see what he was looking at, thinking that it was a spider or something like that. There were two small holes and I saw snakes crawling into the wall.”
The snakes, which Amber described as “shockingly large”, were curled up in a crack in the wall.
After putting his hand on the wall, Hall noticed that it was warm, suggesting that there were more snakes there. Since then, Amber has discovered a total of 10 massive snakes living in the walls, but she doesn’t know what type they are.
“I can’t unpack any of my things because I’m afraid there are snakes in the boxes or under the boxes. It’s like getting into bed and if the sheet touches your leg or something, you immediately pull the blanket off or jump out of bed to make sure there’s nothing there. I’m 42 and it’s my first house. I’ve worked my whole life for it and I can’t enjoy it. I’m scared to death,” she said.
A professional snake hunter who says the size of the snakes suggests they have been living there for at least 2 years.
The woman has spent $1,000 so far to remove the snakes and said she will have to break up concrete to find their den.
