At the Satu Mare County Emergency Hospital, on Monday morning, the third organ collection of this year was completed from a brain-dead patient, whose family agreed to organ donation. It was also the second withdrawal since the beginning of this month.
“Thus, through this noble gesture, in front of which we bow, three other patients received the chance for a new life through liver or kidney transplantation. Such a gesture proves, once again, that, through kindness and love, people can change destinies and perform miracles for their peers. The generosity of the donor’s family and the special effort of the ATI and coordination team of the Satmăre hospital, consisting of Dr. Vitalie Moroşanu – kdp and Dr. Carmen Fiţ – transplant coordinator, together with the regional coordinator – Dr. Andrei Leşan, made it possible that today we can say again #YES for LIFE!”, write the representatives of the National Transplantation Agency, on the Facebook page.
The organs were taken over by the sampling teams of the Fundeni Clinical Institute, led by Dr. Guenadyi Vatachki for the liver and of the Clinical Institute of Urology and Renal Transplant Cluj, led by Dr. Andrei Tomuţa for the kidneys.
Thus, at the Liver Transplant Center of the Fundeni Clinical Institute, one more patient will be able to say that he was “born a second time”, thanks to the liver transplant intervention. The team of surgeons coordinated by Prof. Dr. Vladislav Braşoveanu, with the indispensable support of the ATI team – Dr. Andreea Panaite, Dr. Sibel Soarece, successfully performed the liver transplant intervention, saving the life of a 55-year-old patient.
At the same time, at the Clinical Institute of Urology and Renal Transplant Cluj -ICUTR, two other patients received the long-awaited chance for a kidney transplant, the life-saving interventions being carried out by the transplant teams coordinated by Dr. Florin Elec.
