The administration in Kiev accused Russia, on Monday, of not respecting the terms of the agreement regarding grain exports on the Black Sea, by refusing to register the new transport ships, informs the Reuters agency.
“The Russian Federation has once again effectively stopped the Grain Initiative by refusing to register new incoming ships and by refusing to allow inspections. This approach contradicts the terms of the current agreement,” the Ministry of Reconstruction in Kyiv said.
According to Ukrainian authorities, 90 commercial vessels, including 62 cargo ships, are waiting in Turkish territorial waters for permission to go to Ukrainian ports.
The agreement on Black Sea grain exports will expire on May 18, unless Russia agrees to extend the treaty. Moscow formulated a series of objections, demanding the facilitation of exports of Russian grains and fertilizers.
