Ukrainian officials say air defenses shot down 15 Russian cruise missiles that were fired at the capital.
As a result of the attack, there are no victims, announced Serhiy Popko, a senior military official from Kiev.
The Ukrainians believe that the missiles were launched by four bombers located in the Caspian Sea region.
The new missile attacks came hours before Russia celebrates Victory Day, commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945.
