The building that will be built will have almost 10,000 square meters, developed area, and a minimum of 105 beds. The Galati County Council has started the tender for the construction of the new hospital.
“We have already started the public procurement procedures for appointing a builder. Also, the new building will be equipped with all the necessary equipment. There will be rooms with two beds each, with their own bathroom, and the spaces will correspond to the latest medical standards. Moreover, in the new building we will set up four modern rooms for surgical interventions, and a heliport for the SMURD helicopter will be built on the roof”, said Costel Fotea, president of the Galaţi County Council
The new hospital will be connected to the existing UPU body, through a tunnel. The Operating Block, Orthopedics, the General Surgery section, the ATI section, the Internal Medicine section, the Radiology, Imaging and Medical Analysis laboratories, the Guard Room, the Endoscopy section, the Pharmacy, the Blood Transfusion Unit and the Sterilization section will function in the new building .
The total value of the investment, including the medical equipment that will be purchased later, is over 172 million lei. The hospital will serve approximately one hundred thousand people from Tecuci and the surrounding areas.
