An eight-year-old boy, lost in the woods of Michigan, survived for two days by eating snow and hiding under a log. Nante Niemi went missing over the weekend while camping with her family in Porcupine Mountains State Park.
He got lost while going to gather firewood. Later, 150 people participated in the search mission. Finally, he was found under a log “in good health”, about three kilometers from his camp.
“He braved the elements by sheltering under a log, where he was eventually found,” Michigan State Police said in a statement.
The boy told the police that he “ate clean snow to hydrate himself”. The search team operated on an area of approximately 100 square kilometers.
