There are 51 years between Robert de Niro’s oldest child, Drena De Niro, and the youngest.
The De Niro family also includes Raphael, 46 years old – he and Drena are the children of De Niro and his first wife, Diahnne Abbott -, two children from his second marriage, Elliot, 25 years old, and Helen, 11 years old, and twins Aaron and Julian, aged 27.
De Niro also has four grandchildren.
He revealed the new arrival when a journalist interviewing him began to ask a question, saying: “No, no, no, ‘I know you have six children.’ The actor corrected her, replying: “Seven, actually. I just had a baby,” he added.
De Niro told ET Canada that he believes “he has to be loving with his kids,” despite the fact that sometimes he has to “be tough about things.”
“I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like having to do the law and stuff like that. But sometimes you have no choice,” he said.
“And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do what’s right for the kids and give them the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you can’t.”
