The Russian army withdrew an infantry brigade approximately two kilometers from the front line, on the outskirts of the city of Bahmut, the Ukrainian military authorities announce, informs the Reuters agency.

Colonel Oleksandr Syrskyi, head of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, said that Russian units in certain areas retreated about two kilometers as a result of the counterattacks.
Moscow did not make any comment regarding the withdrawal of the 72nd Brigade from areas located on the outskirts of Bahmut. The information cannot be confirmed from independent sources.
The military confrontations continue intensively in the area of the city of Bahmut. Hanna Maliar, Ukraine’s deputy defense minister, said that Ukrainian military forces had not withdrawn from Bahmut at all on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Russian paramilitary Wagner Group, which frequently accuses the Russian military of not supporting its fighters enough, said a Russian military brigade had abandoned its positions.
