The amount offered for the singles draws at Roland Garros will be increased by 9.1% compared to 2022, with the organizers stating in a statement that they have “significantly increased” the prize pool to ensure a fairer distribution among the players.
Players defeated in the first three rounds of the singles draw will receive between 11% and 13% more this year, with the organizers also increasing the prizes for the three qualifying rounds by an average of 11.8%.
The male and female champions will receive 2.3 million euros each.
Also, the prizes for the men’s and women’s doubles events increased by 4%, the organizers added.
The allocation for the wheelchair and quad competition is 810,000 euros, which is equivalent to a 40% increase compared to 2022.
The French Open takes place between May 28 and June 11.
