At least three people were killed and many others were injured following an armed incident that occurred on Monday in the American state of New Mexico, informs The Associated Press agency.
An individual opened fire at random in the Brookside area of the town of Farmington, located in the state of New Mexico. The preliminary balance is three dead and many injured.
“There are many civilian victims”, the local Police reported, specifying that the alleged author of the armed attack was fatally shot in exchanges of fire with law enforcement.
Several schools located in the area of the attack were closed as a precaution for security reasons.
“The investigation is ongoing,” said Megan Mitchell, an official with the Sheriff’s Office in San Juan County, New Mexico.
