The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who are in, transiting or intend to travel to the Republic of Slovenia that the local Institute of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a red code of torrential rains and floods, especially in the northeast and southeast of the country, for the period 17- May 18, 2023.
Flooding may cause damage in the Pohorje region in the east of the country and near the city of Maribor, where there is a possibility of landslides. Also, due to the intensification of the wind, in the west of the country and on the coast, the port of Koper and the container terminal are closed, and a section of the highway, between Kastelec and Kozina, in the southeast of the country, is also closed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Romanian citizens inform themselves about traffic conditions and access the website of the Slovenian Institute of Hydro-Meteorology (http://www.arso.gov.si/),
to get updated information in real time.
Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the telephone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Ljubljana: +38615057335, calls being forwarded to the Contact and Support Center for Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by Call Center operators on a permanent basis.
