Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă says that the National Liberal Party has argued from the beginning that the main concern of the coalition must be the solution of citizens’ problems.
“In addition, the PNL has signaled very clearly that there is a risk of moving the political agenda away from that of the citizens, in the context of the theme of rotating government. This was also the reason why the PNL demanded compliance with the Protocol and the avoidance of discussions on positions and persons, in order not to distance ourselves from the real problems of the Romanians. The solution for the demands of the unions in education is in the unitary wage law. Consequently, the PNL reiterates that the Ministry of Labor has the full support of the coalition to implement the unitary wage law and the reform of special pensions, in the shortest possible time. The PNL wants the demands of the teachers to be resolved urgently, as well as the issue of special pensions”, says Ciucă.
At the same time, says the prime minister, the transition to government must occur quickly, without syncopation, in order to maintain the stability and balance of the government. Only with seriousness and responsibility can we overcome this moment and ensure a functional government going forward.
“Tomorrow, at 12:00, I have called a meeting with the unions, at the Government, for discussions”, adds the prime minister.
Marcel Ciolacu earlier requested the suspension of the discussions in the Coalition regarding the formation of the new Government until the strikes announced in education and health are resolved.
