“Teachers have every right to revolt. Politicians with executive responsibilities do not have the right to apologize. For a year or so they were obliged by the Ministry of Labor to come up with solutions regarding the cutting of special pensions and solving the inequities in the public salary system. The PSD and Mr. Ciolacu’s way of doing politics remains the same. A double game that aims to manipulate public opinion,” wrote Sighiartău on Facebook.
Any negotiation regarding the future cabinet must be suspended until the demands of the trade unions and the reform of special pensions are resolved, the president of the Social Democratic Party, Marcel Ciolacu, said earlier.
“Since we entered the government, our priority has been the stability of the country and good governance, so that Romanians and the Romanian economy can more easily overcome the multiple crises we are facing. It is clear that at this moment the agenda of Romanians no longer coincides with the political agenda, and I promised that I will never put political interests above the interests of Romanians”, Ciolacu wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
For this reason, the PSD president believes, at this moment, the priority of all political decision-makers must be to solve the requests of the unions, but also the major backlog regarding the reform of special pensions: “Until these two priorities are solved, any negotiation regarding the future cabinet must be suspended. The coalition has the duty to come together primarily for the emergencies of the Romanians, and the future government program must provide for sustainable solutions and a clear deadline for the new wage law”.
