According to the first exit polls regarding the elections in Greece, carried out by the Ert broadcaster, the New Democracy party of the resigned Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is given between 40 and 36% of the votes.
Syriza, the party of Alexis Tsipras, is instead between 29 and 35 percent.
Pasok, the third political force, would have obtained between 12.5% and 9.5%.
Almost 10 million citizens were called to the polls in Greece to elect the new government.
Optimism in the main party of the Greek left is “cautious”, because 438,000 young people between the ages of 17 and 21 were expected at the polls, among whom the percentage of undecideds is around 10%. A reservoir from which the opposition leader, Alexis Tsipras, hopes to catch up with his main rival and try to form a progressive coalition government with the other parties, including Pasok, the country’s third political force.
