The German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) warned on Monday that there is a risk that the Russian secret services will commit acts of sabotage on the territory of Germany, amid the tensions generated by the military support of Ukraine.

“There are major risks of Russian acts of sabotage being committed in Germany. Tactical capabilities can be used against German targets, mainly on essential infrastructure,” said the president of the German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Thomas Haldenwang, quoted by the Tagesschau website .of.
“There are already preparatory activities, such as the monitoring of computer systems, but there have not yet been massive cyber attacks on essential infrastructure in Germany,” stated Thomas Haldenwang.
Russia has accused Western states, including Germany, of direct involvement in the war in Ukraine by providing military assistance to Kiev.
