Cărbunaru was asked, on Thursday evening, if on Friday, after the Government meeting, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă will submit his mandate, after statements made by President Klaus Iohannis.
“The priority of the Government at this moment is related to the dialogue with the representatives of the trade unions in education, of course the approval of the normative acts starting with the one aimed at increasing the incomes of employees from the category of non-teaching staff. Regarding tomorrow’s schedule, we will return after the Government meeting”, answered Dan Cărbunaru.
Nicolae Ciucă’s resignation from the position of prime minister was scheduled for Friday. On Thursday, however, Klaus Iohannis launched the hypothesis of postponing the government rotation until after the teachers’ strike ends.
“As today is Thursday and the strike is not yet over, we will see if we will be able to start the procedure tomorrow or in a few days, but that is not important, if now, immediately, or in a week, two, the rotation is done, the important thing is to have a clear procedure, to know how the coalition will work and to have a government that guarantees the stability of the government and the stability of Romania”, the president declared in Sibiu.
