The prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Timişoara Territorial Service, together with police officers from BCCO Timişoara, carried out 13 home searches on Thursday in the Arad and Timiş counties, as part of an action aimed at breaking up two organized criminal groups, specialized in committing crimes of pimping and unauthorized operations with substances likely to have a psychoactive effect, which operated in the western area of Romania.
“In the case, it was noted that, in the period from June 2021 to May 2023, under the cover of four commercial companies, two organized criminal groups were established, specialized in committing the crimes of pimping, in the variants of facilitating the practice of prostitution and obtaining material benefits from the practice of prostitution by a number of 11 female persons. The activity was carried out in two erotic massage salons, where substances likely to have psychoactive effects were distributed to the clients of the two establishments”, reports DIICOT.
21 people involved in criminal activities are to be brought to the headquarters of DIICOT Timisoara.
