Russia summons Western ambassadors and denounces the stagnation of investigations in the Nord Stream case

“The ambassadors of Germany, Denmark and Sweden were summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they were sent vehement protests against the total lack of results in the national investigations that the authorities of these countries claim to be carrying out”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of in Moscow.

Moscow has constantly asked to participate in the investigations and, in the context of the refusal of Germany, Denmark and Sweden, denounces the “inability to guarantee transparency”. “The fact that the German, Danish and Swedish authorities are avoiding any interaction with Russia in this case is unacceptable. These countries are not interested in finding out the real circumstances of this act of sabotage. On the contrary, they are delaying efforts and trying to hide the traces and the real culprits”, he accused the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.

Russia and Western states accuse each other of committing attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in September 2022. A special Russian ship would have been in the area of ​​the explosions at the Russian-German Nord Stream gas pipeline a few days before the incident, they have recently claimed by sources within the Danish Naval Forces.

Russia has argued that it had no reason to attack its own gas pipelines connecting Germany via the Baltic Sea, attributing the attacks to Ukraine, which, according to Moscow, would have received support from the United States and Great Britain.

In March, sources within the American secret services quoted by The New York Times newspaper stated that the acts of sabotage were committed by a pro-Ukrainian group. The administration in Kiev and officials from the Ukrainian military services signaled that they had no role in the attacks and that they do not know who committed them.
