The company that makes the world’s most popular assault rifle, the Kalashnikov, has decided to diversify its arms and start a division to produce new kamikaze drones, one of the key weapons used in the war in Ukraine, said the group’s president, Alan Lushnikov, quoted by Tass.

“We created an unmanned aerial vehicle division. We have consolidated all our development and production capacities and we are increasing production”, claims Lushnikov, explaining to the Russian agency that he cannot “disclose the details”.
The new unit will include everything necessary for the efficient operation of unmanned aerial vehicles. “Our approach is to constantly improve our product, we cannot work otherwise”, emphasized the president of the company which already has its own kamikaze drone produced by one of the companies of the Kalashnikov group, Zala Aero.
The Lancet, as the drone is called, was used in the war against Ukraine and is equipped with various coordinate-based targeting systems, optoelectronics and combined technology.
The drone has a television communication channel to transmit images of targets and confirm their destruction. The drone can hit targets within a radius of 40 km.
