Karel Gott had a particular weakness for the S-class, a luxurious large sedan that has been the flagship of the German automaker for many decades. The singer was very often driven in Mercedes (and not only) by his personal driver Oldřich Havránek.
And just one Mercedes-Benz S class, whose first owner was supposed to be Karel Gott, is currently for sale on the well-known advertising portal Bazoš.cz.
It is a W220 generation sedan (produced in 2001) in S 400 CDI design. Under this designation hides the motorization with two turbochargers, a supercharged eight-cylinder diesel engine with a volume of 3,996 cc3 delivering a maximum output of 184 kW (250 hp) at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 560 Nm between 1,700 and 2,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
According to the manufacturer’s data, the Mercedes S 400 CDI accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and accelerates to 250 km/h. The average consumption in the combined cycle should be 9.6 l/100 km.
According to the seller, the sedan with a mileage of 299,000 kilometers is in good technical condition, the “cosmetics” are said to correspond to the age of the vehicle. The interior is dominated by black leather upholstery, which contrasts with brown wooden decor and decorative elements.
The car should be equipped with the highest possible equipment at the time, but in addition it also offers, for example, a hidden active anti-radar. We also see an entertainment system with screens for rear seat passengers.
Mercedes-Benz S class, whose first owner was supposed to be Karel Gott, is sold for 179 thousand crowns. But in the ad we also find a note that the price is negotiable. Which is actually quite a low price for a car from such a celebrity – even considering the fact that in 2001 this car could have cost well over 2.5 million crowns.
