So much new content we’re surprised it’s free. Gran Turismo 7 is getting a giant update that will force us to neglect our duties again.
In the past, when a video game was released, you usually only had the content on a CD, and another for the same game was delivered to you, for example, on a data disk, which came out for something here and there. Today, when almost every video game is connected to the Internet, new content can be delivered to you additionally in regular installments, perhaps once a month. This is useful not only for content, but also for patches, for example when a video game is somehow broken after release (hello to CD Projekt). However, Polyphony Digital, home of the Gran Turismo video game, are smart about releasing new content.
The seventh edition of this world-renowned video game series was released on March 7, 2022, and since then, players have been treated to monthly updates that always add some new content. So the game looks a little different today than when it was released, and you can do a lot more things there. And if you have GT7, the biggest update this video game has ever seen has just been released. It’s called Spec II and it adds so much stuff that we’re surprised it’s not paid for like a big DLC (downloadable content).

Players will get seven new cars for free. Specifically, it is a Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi from 1968, a Dodge Challenger Demon from 2018, a Lexus LFA, a Nismo 400R, a Tesla Model 3 Performance, a Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.6-16 Evolution II and, finally, an incredible gem in the form of of the current Porsche 911 GT3 RS. New weekly challenges, new levels in championship licenses, new menus in the cafe (who played knows), redesigned meetings with other players in the form of chatting in the parking lot in the paddock or split screen for up to four players are also waiting for virtual racers.
You can also train as a photographer in the game, just choose a place or replay the race you just completed. You will now be able to play with the virtual camera even more, and some new locations have also been added. The game actually looks a little different now, the menu with an overview of your achievements has also been redesigned. Another major innovation is an imaginary track in Canada called Lake Louise, which has three different configurations. Its biggest advantage is that it is covered in snow and you will need snow tires to drive it.

During races, you will be able to turn on Sophy’s artificial intelligence on your opponents, which was created on the basis of other players, and winning such a race is a real challenge. So a new track, seven cars and lots of other content. All this for free. If you got tired of Gran Turismo 7 after a year of playing and you didn’t know what to do next, now is the right time to pull the box out of the drawer and have hours of new fun again.
