The first important message concerns the market launch. According to Natalie Knight, CFO of the Stellantis Group, to which the Peugeot brand belongs, the third generation of the 5008 model will arrive in August next year.

From a technical point of view, the 5008 will be close to the recently introduced new generation model 3008, as it was in previous generations as well. The novelty will be based on the STLA platform, which enables the integration of various electrified drives.

The 5008’s shapes will no doubt be based on the design language introduced on the smaller 3008 SUV.

The Peugeot 5008 will arrive 100% as an electric car, but the platform can also “handle” a plug-in hybrid or a hybrid drive. We can therefore expect that the seven-seater SUV will also go on sale in a version with a 1.2 PureTech internal combustion engine, we can also count on a Hybrid 48V hybrid version.

The architecture of the cabin will probably be completely identical to the concept of the panoramic i-Cockpit from the new 3008.

The Peugeot 5008 will probably be quite close to the smaller 3008 in terms of design as well. We assume that the novelty will take over a number of elements, details and ideas from the smaller SUV, especially the specific solution of the headlights. However, the family-oriented seven-seat car will of course offer a larger and more practically shaped body.

The affinity between the two models will certainly show in the interior. The 5008 gets a modernized version of the typical i-Cockpit, which Peugeot refers to as “panoramic” because it optically combines the raised instrument panel display with the infotainment touchscreen. Together, they form a digital curved wide-angle screen with a diagonal of 21 inches.

We can already get a pretty good idea of the new Peugeot 5008, even though we don’t have a lot of specific and officially confirmed information available – especially as far as the range of engines is concerned. It will be clearer soon, the premiere of the French competitor Škoda Kodiaq is coming unstoppably.
