The new product with a large battery is just starting to be sold on the Chinese market, it would also look good here.
In terms of practicality and interior space, there was never anything to complain about with Volvo. Even so, it is entering new high-capacity waters through the first MPV in its almost century-long history. The EM90 is based on the design of the already sold Zeekr 009, so it also has the SEA1 platform, on which, for example, the Polestar 5 or the Lotus Eletre stand.
While the Chinese car can have up to a 140kWh battery, the Volvo makes do with a 116kWh NMC battery. The manufacturer indicates a range of 738 kilometers in the Chinese CLTC cycle, which is a bit more optimistic than “our” WLTP – the difference between them is usually around ten percent, which would mean about 660 kilometers. Ideally, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes. The car supports V2X technology, so it is possible to power other devices from it.

The drive is handled by one electric motor on the rear axle, it has a power of 200 kW and the EM90 gets to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 180 km/h.
The interior is in the spirit of traditional Scandinavian minimalism, which in this case will be combined with peace and quiet. According to his words, the manufacturer has taken care of noise reduction, which he will also support with quiet tires and, as part of air updates, also with active noise suppression. The air suspension will add another level of comfort.

In addition to family use, the car will also be able to be used as a mobile office – a 15.6-inch screen is available for the rear rows of seats, which can be folded out from the ceiling, through which it is possible to conduct video calls. In front, there is a 15.4-inch infotainment screen. The EM90 is intended primarily for Asian markets, where luxury MPVs are highly popular, according to Automotive News magazine, there are currently no plans to sell it in Europe or the US. Prices start at 818,000 yuan, which translates to just over 2.5 million crowns.
