Mercedes-Benz and Bosch received approval for the commercial operation of automated driverless parking as early as November 2022. The EQE sedan became the first ever car to support the Intelligent Park Pilot function. It was later joined by the EQS sedan and the S-Class, and now the E-Class sedan and estate, EQE SUV and EQS SUV also handle it. It works as follows – you drive your car into the garage, get out and send the car to a pre-booked parking space via the smartphone application.

When you want to leave, you call the car again via smartphone – of course you need to have your Mercedes me account as well as the Remote Parking Package function. Mercedes says that automatic parking will save the owner a lot of time looking for a place and guiding the car into the right position, however, the system currently only works at Stuttgart Airport in the APCOA P6 parking garage. Additional locations should be added over time.
