Toyota does not want to give up the Camry sedan. It still enjoys solid sales and a reputation as a reliable car. Now the ninth generation is coming.
Toyota is writing the next chapter of the Camry sedan. The car’s designers designed a new front with modern LED headlights and an optically elongated hood with a logo at the expense of a thin radiator grille. The central opening of the bumper is narrower, which accentuates the side cutouts. From the side, the changes are only in the details, but at the back we can appreciate the modified trunk lid, new molding around the license plate, sharper cut headlights with new graphics and a stylish bumper.
New shades Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal have been added to the seven existing lacquers. A fresh spirit is brought by 19-inch wheels and the possibility of contrasting painting of the roof in black. Overall, the new Toyota Camry looks balanced. Dynamic, but still elegant. The appearance will vary slightly depending on the choice of four trims.
But under the coat we find the original TNGA-K platform from the predecessor, although the chassis has been extensively redesigned and has more advanced dampers. Only front- or all-wheel drive hybrids will be available on the market. In the first case, the four-cylinder with a volume of 2.5 liters is complemented by an electric motor for a total output of 225 horsepower. The four-wheeler, which was not available in our country in the current generation, has an additional electric motor on the rear axle. In both cases, the system is connected to the eCVT automatic. Toyota did not disclose battery capacity.
In the interior, you can recognize the features of the original Camry, for example on the central tunnel with a bent side panel on the passenger side, but otherwise the dashboard is completely new. Overall, it has adapted to a 12.3-inch large digital shield complemented by a 10-inch head-up display. The central Infotainment comes with 7 or 8 inches. It is capable of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly, and there is also an induction surface for charging. The menu includes a JBL audio system. In the lower trims, the upholstery is fabric with different colors and reliefs, in the higher trims, Toyota sticks to quality leather. It goes without saying that the seats can be heated and ventilated.
The Camry doesn’t skimp on driver support either. The high level is indicated by the package of Safety Sense 3.0 systems. So you can rely on anti-collision assistant, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign monitoring, blind spot monitoring, automatic lights, monitoring of traffic behind the car and an assistant to safely leave the car. If you add the Premium package, the Camry will drive itself in a convoy, monitor the surroundings in front of the car, change lanes and help with parking with a panoramic camera or the possibility of emergency braking.
