Sometimes it makes sense to have the same models of different generations running side by side.

The arrival of a new model does not necessarily mean that the current one will be relegated to old iron. For example, the first generation Škoda Octavia with the designation Tour was sold concurrently with the second generation until 2010. The same was true for Citroën with the Xara Picasso and the newer C4 Picasso. As development and production costs had long been paid for, the older model functioned as a cheaper alternative as long as demand lasted. The same principle keeps the almost 13-year-old Lancia Y alive. True, it was helped by a facelift in 2015 and its electric successor will arrive this year. But it is possible that he will keep the combustion derivative for a while.

In any case, Dodge chose the same path in 2019, when in addition to the fifth generation RAM 1500, the fourth generation came off the production lines under the name 1500 Classic. Its first model year premiered in Detroit in 2009. And almost five years ago, few people expected that the classic design could be ordered as a new car even in 2024. The automaker confirmed the information to the Motor1 editors, stating that the materials for the website and configurator are being prepared.

So the exact specifications are not known, but probably nothing will change. Last year, the RAM 1500 Classic was sold as a working two-seat version with a long body, a half cab with space behind the rear seats or a double cab. The last two versions could also be ordered in the more luxurious Warlock version. Under the hood ran either a basic 3.6-liter six-cylinder or a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, both with an eight-speed automatic. Of course, the interior is long over the horizon, but if you need a hard worker, then the 7-inch infotainment system will not fit, and you will be happy for a bunch of buttons.

The decisive factor is the stated price in conversion of 779,000 CZK, which is 136,000 CZK less than you will pay for the basic fifth generation. And compared to the Ford F150 or Chevrolet Silverado, you save about 90,000 CZK. But the prices would certainly be higher here.
