Young talent Hujíček became the champion of the third edition of Škoda eRally Cup virtual races. The athlete from Napajedel is only 21 years old and won the title in his debut season. It was already the third year for the Škoda competition, which consisted of competitions in five different destinations. The last one was the gravel challenge in New Zealand.

Hujíček was already certain of the title before the last race, but he left nothing to chance and finished first at the finish line of the New Zealand competition with a half-minute lead. Not only he was happy, but also team boss Tomáš Enge, whose Enge SIM Racing stable the young competitor represents.

Each tournament is divided into a qualifying online part (played from home) and a final offline event, where the eight fastest qualifiers compete against each other at the same time and in one place.

“I’m really happy that all the hours of preparation paid off. During the season, I especially liked the gravel competitions in Poland and New Zealand. I would like to thank my family, friends and everyone who cheered for me,” said Hujíček after the overall triumph.

Simulators for the eRally Cup are prepared by the Czech company Digital Racing, as part of offline tournaments, identical rally machines are raced.

The special guest of the final race in the arena in Prague’s Chodov was also the driver of real rally competitions, David Tomek. The competitive Fabia pilot – the real one – also takes part in virtual rallies in his free time, for which he even had a professional simulator built. The one where all Škoda eRally Cup finals take place.

Next year, the Škoda competition will undergo a significant change. While until now the races took place on the DIRT Rally 2.0 simulator, starting this year the eRally Cup will be played on the new game platform WRC from EA Sports, which is the official game of the World Rally Championship.
