The new Volkswagen Passat has not been officially shown in the Czech Republic yet, but we already know enough about the prices and equipment. Judge for yourself.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Passat is being produced alongside the Škoda Superb in Bratislava, and unlike the Škoda, it is only available as a station wagon (the Superb will continue to be available as a liftback). The first prices have already flown through the Czech internet, and although they were data from a German configurator, at least you could get an idea of what to expect in the Czech Republic.
The Czech Volkswagen Passat configurator is now available. The basis of the offer is equipment called simply Passat. It starts at 999,900 CZK (a price comparable to the German one, where it costs 39,995 euros) and is currently tied exclusively to a gasoline mild-hybrid one-five with an output of 110 kW and a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
The basic features include alloy 16-inch wheels, dual-zone air conditioning, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, Lane Assist, 12.9-inch virtual cockpit, infotainment with a 12.9-inch display, keyless start, preparation for activating navigation within the in-car shop or wireless connectivity. Only Pure white paint is free of charge, each of the five available metallic shades costs an additional 18,300 CZK.
The Business version starts at CZK 1,119,900 for one-five, a two-liter diesel engine with 110 kW and a DSG transmission costs at least CZK 1,175,900. There is a choice of six metallic and one pearl lacquer (Pure white is still standard), the Winter package with heated steering wheel, front seats and washer jets, navigation or a choice of driving modes is part of the equipment. The wheels are still 16 inches, but in the Venezia design.
The Elegance line was very visible in the first official photos of the Passat B9. For 1,167,900 CZK you have a fifteen-speed eTSI, for 1,222,900 CZK there is a 2.0 TDI/110 kW diesel engine. Equipment includes three-zone air conditioning, Matrix LED headlights, sun blinds on the rear windows, rear parking camera or keyless unlocking and starting. The wheels are cast 17-inch Napoli design.
Top R-Line equipment is currently only available with the 2.0 TDI/110 kW engine and starts at CZK 1,243,900. It has sportier-shaped bumpers, 18-inch Coventry wheels, ergoActive sports seats with a massage function and the option to extend the seat, ambient interior lighting with 30 colors or touchless control of the trunk lid. There are many shades of paint, and additional charges include, for example, the Black Style packages (CZK 18,300) and Black Style Premium (121.600 Kč). The more expensive ones include, for example, 19-inch wheels or laminated side windows.
It is clear from the current overview that the offer on the Czech market is not yet complete. And it mainly concerns engines. In addition to the mentioned units, the Passat B9 will also be available with two plug-in hybrids (150 and 200 kW), 2.0 TSI turbo petrols (150 kW, 195 kW 4Motion) and a 2.0 TDI/142 kW diesel, combined exclusively with the 4Motion drive.
With the exception of plug-in hybrids, the engines are combined with a 7-speed DSG. Plug-in hybrids are equipped with regard to the installation of an electric motor 6-speed gearbox DQ400e evo.
