The much-needed revival of the once famous car manufacturer’s offer is coming. It also combats references to the past with design.

Stratos, Delta, Gamma, Fulvia… Remembering these famous models, one must be saddened to see that the once iconic car company now only offers a single Ypsilon model, and it is considerably superior and based on the technology of the now prehistoric modern Fiat 500. This will soon change , there are three models in preparation and the first of them will be the fourth generation Ypsilon.

The platform and technology will be supplied by the Stellantis concern. Specifically, it will be the technical basis of CMP, which is currently used by, for example, Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa and other compact cars.

The Ypsilon has already been caught several times without camouflage, so the design is no longer a secret. The stern takes the Stratos round lights as a model, we also find a large Lancia inscription here in a rather interesting historical font. In the front part, there are light strips that form a chalice motif, modeled after the brand’s old cars.

From a technical point of view, no significant surprises can be expected with regard to the platform used. Under the hood, there will certainly be a three-cylinder twelve-hundredth engine connected to a 48V mild-hybrid, and you can certainly count on an electric drive from the Stellantis concern, which has a new output of 115 kW and can travel up to 400 kilometers. The premiere of the new Lancia Ypsilon is planned for this year’s Geneva Motor Show.


Lancia, founded in 1906, is one of the world’s oldest car companies. The first car was created in 1908.

Lancia remained independent until the 1960s. But in 1969 it was taken over by Fiat, where it has the role of a more luxurious alternative to its cars. From 2021, Lancia belongs to the Stellantis group.
