The modernization of the production line cost 49 million euros. Sufficient production capacity was ensured by the transfer of Superb to Bratislava.
Production of the new Kodiaq has started at the Kvasin plant. It is created on the same line as the first generation, but the system was modernized for a considerable amount of money, as was the welding shop. The rebuild also included manipulators, undercarriage assembly, conveyor technology and modification of robots that apply window glue. The plan is to build up to 410 Kodiaqs every day, and together with the Karoq, Škoda intends to produce up to 150,000 SUVs annually in Kvasiny.
The first generation of the successful SUV was created in more than 870,000 units, it was also produced in Ukraine, China and until 2022 in Russia. In total, it shipped to more than 60 markets worldwide. The second generation became the first swallow of the new Modern Solid design style, it is available with five types of drive, for the first time also as a plug-in hybrid. It promises a range of over 100 kilometers on a single charge. The car is also available with a two-liter TDI or TSI. Orders were launched in November last year.
