Since 1964, you can meet motorcycles from BMW in the services of the Castle. This cooperation will continue.
The Castle Guard of the Czech Republic has a rich history with BMW motorcycles. You might not even say it, but BMWs have been in service since 1964, when the black R 69s models served as vanguards and escorts outside Prague, until the mid-70s. From then until 1985, they were in the white-black version and with Tesla radios. From 1965 to 1985, the R 50/2 model was added to them in fifteen pieces, which also served as an accompaniment.
In the period from 1990 to 2002, single-seat and two-seat variants of the K75RT model were used, and then already with Motorola radios. From 1999, the R 1100 RT and R 1150 RT models were also used. Even today, the R 1150 GS and R 1150 GS Adventure models are used in civilian versions for courier services at the Castle. Seven more R 1200 RT-Ps have been added since 2011, and the R 1200 GS was added in 2018.
And now? The company BMW ACR Auto will supply the Castle with 16 BMW R 1250 RT motorcycles and two BMW R 1300 GS motorcycles for civil purposes. RTčka have beacons, a radio and a shorter first gear for driving in special escorts. GSka, for a change, are in the civilian version of the GS Trophy for off-road routes and deployment in the terrain and at high speeds.
The BMW R 1250 RT motorcycle has a four-stroke two-cylinder boxer with a volume of 1.2 liters with an output of 100 kW (136 hp) and a maximum torque of 143 Nm. It can go over 200 km/h and weighs 279 kg without additional equipment. The Trophy has a 1.3-liter engine with an output of 107 kW (145 hp).
