The European Car of the Year 2023 will be sold in the Czech Republic this year with two internal combustion engines. One of them will even have a dual-clutch automatic.

The Jeep car company is currently not in the spotlight, but that does not mean that nothing is happening in the Czech market. The current mover and the most advertised vehicle is the Jeep Avenger, which won the title of Car of the Year 2023. After all, the Gladiator, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler simply do not pull those sales, although they are cool cars. The offer also includes the Renegade and the compact Compass.

But back to the Avenger, which will see several new features this year. The first will be the previously announced arrival of a version with an internal combustion engine. Following the model of other cars of the Stellantis group, the 1.2 Turbo unit, here with a power of 74 kW (100 hp), finds its way under the hood of the car. It will be paired with a six-speed manual and only front-wheel drive. This version even has a Czech price of 599,900 CZK.

However, the brand plans to introduce a 1.2 e-Hybrid engine, which will also have 100 horsepower, but will be paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. We can also expect the arrival of a version with all-wheel drive. Other news concerns the Wrangler, which will arrive in the Czech Republic this year in a rejuvenated form with 2.0 Turbo engines with an output of 272 hp and also as a plug-in hybrid 2.0 4xe with an output of 380 hp.

The big news will be the arrival of the Grand Cherokee 4xe model, i.e. a plug-in hybrid with a combined output of 380 horsepower and an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. We don’t know its Czech prices yet, but in Germany it is offered in the basic Limited trim for 79,500 euros, i.e. 1,970,560 CZK.

Founded in 1941, Jeep won a competition announced by the US Army. From 1945, it also started producing civilian off-road vehicles.

It is a traditional off-road manufacturer and its name is often synonymous with this type of car. It belongs to the Stellantis group.
