A classic Land Rover from a limited farewell edition after a celebrity? This will guarantee a hefty price in the auction.

As is generally known, the British actor Rowan Atkinson is a big fan of cars. For example, the McLaren F1, Aston Martin V8 Zagato, BMW 328, Lancia Delta HF Integrale, eight-cylinder Thema 8.32, Honda NSX, Ford Falcon Sprint… and also the classic “Defík” from the limited 400-unit Heritage series passed through his garage.

The rare edition can be recognized by its Grasmere Green paintwork, white roof, front grille in the style of the earliest Land Rovers and various references to the very first example produced with the registration number HUE 166 from 1948.

You can also have the new Defender 90 as a convertible. The apparent extravagance refers to the first series of Land Rover

Interestingly, Atkinson didn’t buy this Defender 110 new – the first owner bought it in Chesterfield in October 2015 and put it up for sale 18 months later. The actor drove the car minimally, it has recorded only 3,800 miles, or roughly 6,100 kilometers. But he paid due attention to it, for example having the factory air conditioning, alarm and towing equipment completed.

The Defender will go on sale through Iconic Auctioneers at the end of February at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry. The estimated price is 1.7 to 2.3 million crowns – a nice sum considering that the limited edition of the long Defender Heritage cost a little over a million when new. Together with the car, the new owner will also receive a special publication Land Rover – One of 400, which was supplied with this special edition.
