Hideo Kojima is churning out one news after another. Not only did he develop Death Stranding 2, a movie based on the first game, and an OD horror title for Xbox, but he also develops a brand new game for PlayStation. He will return to his roots in it, because it is about action-espionage title with a code designation PHYSINT.
PlayStation head of studio Hermen Hulst said during the State of Play stream that this is a project in a genre that Kojima has been pushing for years (Kojima is best known as the creator of the Metal Gear series). However, this upcoming venture it won’t be a Metal Gear Solid game. According to Kojima, it will be about brand new, original IP.
According to Kojima Productions, the game will feature cutting-edge technology and a star-studded castwhich will bring an unparalleled experience. It blurs the lines between film and game, offering near-realistic graphics and a new take on interactive entertainment.
Kojima Productions has already started work on the project, but it will not go into full production until after the team completes Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is due out next year. Kojima noted that Sony makes music and movies, implying that they would it could be a transmedia project. He added that he is confident that this title will the culmination of his work.
