Already on St. Valentine’s Day, we will finally take a look at the improved flagship of the domestic automaker. Will it be love at first sight?
The official unveiling is fast approaching, so Skoda is tempting us one last time with the new shapes and design elements of its flagship model. On the sketches that have just been published, we can see modified bumpers, a different radiator grille and also new headlights. These are LED Matrix units of the second generation with a new light signature, in which we can find the Crystallinium element. This gives them a blue shade inside and is supposed to evoke Czech crystal. This will unify the design with the new generations of Superb and Kodiaq, which were presented at the end of last year.
“Bringing to life and developing the design characteristics of our brand icons is a fascinating task. In the latest modernization of the Octavia model, we modified the bumpers and radiator grille. At the same time, we sharpened the contours of the headlights, giving our bestseller an even more expressive and sporty look. This, together with new elements such as the LED Matrix headlights of the second generation, will ensure the attractiveness of the Octavia model for years to come.” said Oliver Stefani, head of Škoda Design.
Even after the facelift, the Škoda classic will be available as a liftback and station wagon, and the Sportline and RS versions will not be missing from the menu. According to the statistics of the Association of Automobile Importers, 21,815 units were registered in the Czech Republic last year, while in 2022, 13,906 units were registered. In 2023, Škoda Auto delivered 191,900 units of the Octavia worldwide, making it the brand’s most popular model globally. The second place last year was held by the Kamiq with 116,500 units, and the third place by the Kodiaq with 105,900 units.
