The point system has also been changed, which has loosened up in some places and tightened in others. So, for example, he canceled the seven-point and monitored offenses. In addition, now not only three, but even four penalty points can be erased after completing the points deduction course at the accredited training ground.
On the other hand, you must not have any six-point offense active for visiting the course to deduct points, of which there are quite a few in the new points tariff. However, if you like your papers, then you should definitely avoid the following offenses. You will immediately lose your driver’s license for their proven commission.
Alcohol and drugs
For driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs you cannot be fined on the spot, but only in administrative proceedings, where you face a penalty of CZK 7-20,000 and a driving ban for 6-18 months. If you breathe more than 0.3 per thousand, then you still get 6 points on your driver’s card.
If so you are driving in a disqualifying condition (i.e. a state where a person is no longer able to safely perform a certain activity), again cannot be solved by a fine on the spot. In administrative proceedings, there is a risk of a penalty of 7-50,000 CZK, you will also receive 6 penalty points and a driving ban for 6-18 months.
The absolute worst is if you refuse a drug and alcohol testget ready for 6 penalty points, an administrative fine of CZK 25-75,000 (!) and the fact that you will take a break from the wheel for 18-36 months.
If it in the village you will speed over the limit by 40 km/h and outside the village over 50 km/hexpect a financial patch in the amount of CZK 7-25,000 in administrative proceedings, 6 points on your driver’s card and a break from driving for 6-18 months.
Disregarding an order to stop
An activity ban of 4-6 months is imposed on whoever intentionally disobeyed the instruction to stop the vehicle given in the management, direction or supervision of traffic. That is, on the instructions of an authorized person, e.g. a police officer when driving an intersection. Financial penalties in administrative proceedings here start at 7,000 CZK and end at 25,000 CZK. The point penalty here is 6 points.
If you are found the culprit of a traffic accident with death or serious injury, then you won’t get any money out of it. Legally, there is a risk of imprisonment for up to 10 years, 6 points on the driver’s card and a ban on driving for at least 18 months.
And what traffic accident with personal injury? Expect to receive a double fine in administrative proceedings for the offense that led to the accident. Plus 6 points for a driver’s card and papers for a dry cleaner for 6-18 months.
If you are found guilty of failure to stop the vehicle immediatelythen in administrative proceedings you face a fine of CZK 7-25,000, 4 points on your driver’s card and a driving ban for 4-6 months.
Leaving the scene of the accident it is then assessed in the administrative proceedings with a fine of CZK 7–25,000, 4 points on the driver’s card and a break from driving for 4–6 months.
No driver’s license
For driving without a driver’s license you will win a fine of CZK 25-75,000 (!), in the administrative proceedings, you will also receive 4 points on your account and you will not be allowed to drive legally for the next 18-36 months.
If so you go into traffic with a suspended driver’s licenseagain expect administrative proceedings with a fine of CZK 7-25,000, 4 points on the card and an extended driving ban of 6-18 months.
Authorization and registration marks
For driving without professional competence (where required) in administrative proceedings, a fine of CZK 7-25,000 is imposed, 2 penalty points are added and a driving ban is imposed for a period of 6-18 months.
Driving without a license plate (also applies to the sign outside the window) is awarded by the administrative body a fine of CZK 4-10,000, without points, but with a driving ban for 6-18 months.
And what covered license plate? Again a fine in administrative proceedings of CZK 4-10,000, without points, but again with a driving ban for 6-18 months.
Offense driving with a suspended vehicle registration certificate (small technician) is fined in administrative proceedings in the amount of CZK 7–25,000, without penalty points, but banned from driving for a period of 4–6 months.
For anti-radar in the vehicle (meaning active) there is a risk of administrative proceedings awarded with a fine of 7-25,000 CZK, without points, but with a driving ban lasting 4-6 months.
So these are offenses for which you will immediately lose your driver’s license from the beginning of this year. The fines also went up a lot in some cases, but overall, the new point system is supposed to be more lenient towards drivers who sometimes just get away with it, but stricter towards those who have the traffic rules on their toes.
