Although the motorhome era was at its strongest during the covid pandemic and for some time after, there are still some interesting motorhomes for sale today that are worth buying. We recently came across one of these and what a discovery it was when it became clear that it was an off-road housing after the famous Dakar racer…
The basis of this 5.6-meter-long motorhome is a Ford Transit from 2015, which currently has less than 134,000 kilometers on it. The car’s power unit is a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 125 hp and 300 Nm, which is transmitted to all four wheels by a six-speed manual.
The main features of the vehicle equipment include a heated windshield, rain sensor, light sensor, dual air conditioning (cabin, superstructure), swivel and heated front seats, leather steering wheel, parking sensors, cruise control and Alpine car radio with Apple CarPlay, Netflix, YouTube, O2 compatibility TV. Off-road tires, a rear lock and a towing device for 2,350 kg will also come in handy.
The residential building is insulated with 20 mm thick K-FLEX material within the roof, floor and walls. The windows are equipped with films, while there is also a roof window with a net and a sun screen. The furniture is made of solid chipboard, the drawers have a soft close function.
A comfortable sleep will be ensured by a bed measuring 196 x 160 cm, with the possibility of extending it up to 200 cm. Another (rather emergency) overnight stay can be realized after lowering the adjustable table and turning the driver’s seat. The memory mattresses on the bed have washable covers and are made to order.
Inside, there is also heating, a boiler, LED lighting, a combined sink with cooker, and a water pump. Showering is provided by an outdoor shower, so you can use a chemical toilet that has never been used. The water tank has a volume of 112 liters, and the refrigerator is accessible both from the outside and from the inside.
Electrical wiring laid out by a professional works with 12 V and 220 V, so it will offer three classic sockets and eight USB ports. The appliances are powered by an AGM 140 Ah battery, which charges both the alternator through the charger and the 175 Wp solar panel.
The seller also states that the car has had its engine oil, transmission oil and differential oil changed. Shock absorbers, springs, axles, EGR valve are also new.
Do you already know who the owner might be? This adventure camper Transit is sold by Dakar pilot Ondřej Klymčiw, who you may know from the Škodovka na Dakar project. In any case, it is an interesting vehicle, tailor-made for any adventurer. Do you like it? You can have it for 1,150,000 CZK.
