And it is thanks to Renault clients who will purchase the upcoming Renault 5 or the future Renault 4 or Renault Twingo with a price below half a million crowns that Dacia will be able to build and launch an electric version of the popular Sander in 2027/2028. The car is to be larger overall, to offer internal combustion engines, but still affordable thanks to technologies paid for by Renault customers.

Dacia also let it be known that the new Sandero with internal combustion engines will be sold at least until 2035, when the ban on the sale of emission-producing cars, which will not be boycotted by European automakers, is due to come into force.

The electric Sandero thus joins the family of the recently rejuvenated Spring, which is currently joined on the sidelines by the hybrid Jogger and Duster. By the way, the next generation of Duster will arrive in 2032, so just before the transition to full electric mobility.

An all-electric Duster? Calm down, until the next generation at the earliest.

And since the cars (Duster and Sandero) already share their platforms, it is realistic that this will be the case in the future as well. This would mean the potential arrival of an all-electric Duster, which would make sense for an all-electric Europe, and for the manufacturer as well, as it could retain production of combustion Dusters for other markets. We can also look forward to the year 2025, when the Dacia Bigster, i.e. the bigger brother of the Duster, will arrive.

The automaker is also diligently preparing for the future, as it is now moving production of the Sander and Jogger to Morocco, while the Duster and Bigster models will be produced in Romania.
