Retro Garáž can already be described as traditional, because it takes place twice a year and today it is not only a car-moto vintage exchange, but also a public live auction of vintage cars. This concept was invented and implemented by Pavel Kočí, whom no one calls anything other than “the top retro garage man”.

For the spring of 2024, specifically on April 27, Kočí has prepared the biggest Retro Garage ever. There will be a total of 31 vehicles (cars and motorbikes) for sale, with one exception (a motorbike) not having auction reserves, which are de facto insurance policies for sellers to get the amount they want for their vehicles.

After registration, it will be possible to bid on auctions in person on the spot, by phone or online through the Aukro portal.

Pavel Kočí will start it again on stage and auction cars and motorbikes.

Since the offer is huge this year, we will first look at the section of cars, of which there will be 8, but they will be real pearls.

Škoda Favorit 136 L

“Fáčko”, “Fáslo”, “Fagul”, “Ferrarit”. These are the various nicknames you might have heard about the progressive Škoda Favorit, which at one time paid for one of the most modern cars of the socialist bloc.

The offered Favorit has a very low mileage, just 7,000 km.

The auction will feature a piece from 1989, but in a highly preserved condition with only 7,000 km on it, and even with a valid original technical manual. The starting price is set at CZK 45,000.

Too bad Felicia

Since it is a piece from 1963, we are not talking about the mainstream Favorit facelift, i.e. the modern Felicia, but the original, open one. After a complete renovation, including an engine and chassis overhaul, the vehicle is in excellent condition and thanks to a recent technical inspection, it can be operated immediately. The starting price is CZK 550,000.

Open Felicias are popular vintage cars.

Metalex Roadster

We will stay with the Favorit, but we will remove the roof and replace the body parts. After the successful conversion of the Rapid models into convertibles, Mělník Metalex took the Favorit models to task and between 1991 and 1996 produced approximately 150 roadster models.

However, most of the examples ended up abroad, so if one appears for sale, it is quite a rarity. You may remember the auctioned piece from 1993 from our article, which reported on a very wild price of several million.

Exceptional Favorite? Then you need this piece without a roof from Metalex.

However, the owner of the car decided to put the vehicle up for auction at Retro Garage, set a starting price of CZK 600,000 and did not even want an auction reserve. So there is an interesting offer on the table for everyone who wants to fight for a unique Favorite.

Skoda 1000 MBX

Glazed, two-door and very rare. Only 1,403 1000 MBX models were produced, however everyone will recognize that they were based on the standard Škoda 1000 MB. An interesting fact is that this coupe was largely hand-made, which is why it was produced outside the main production line at the factory in Kvasiny.

Did you know that the Škoda 1000 MBX was produced off the main line?

The offered piece from 1967 underwent a total renovation in 2007, including overhaul of the chassis and engine adjustment. According to the official description, it is supposed to be a car without investments with rewritable documents. The asking price is then 750,000 CZK.

Skoda 110 R

The Škoda 110 R coupe, the predecessor of the famous Škoda 130 RS, appears in the Retro Garage offer in the form of a very well-preserved piece from 1980. It is a car from the first owner with only 23,000 km, which was retired in 2016 and has now been revived.

Sporty 110R has low mileage, nice color and decent condition.

Apart from the overhaul of the brakes, the new owner does not expect any major investment. The vehicle also has valid Czechoslovak documents and a starting price of CZK 350,000.

Skoda Popular

This Popular is no ordinary Popular, but a rare pre-war version with four doors and a canvas roof. There really weren’t many such models.

This Popular has four doors and a retractable roof, which is very rare.

You may recognize the car in question from our article created in cooperation with Veteran Arena Olomouc, which corresponds to the excellent condition of the car. In short, sit down and drive. So first you have to win the auction, which will start at 650,000 CZK.

Citroen ID 19

Citroën ID pays for a more affordable version of the classic Citroën DS, which differs in terms of technology, equipment and decor. From the outside, however, only a real expert can tell a DS from an ID.

It rarely happens that a piece of ID or DS appears at a Czech auction, however, at the spring Retro Garage we will have the opportunity to auction a facelifted Citroën ID 19 model from 1972, which came to the Czech Republic from France in 2019.

The ID models are cheaper derivatives of the DS models.

The official description of the model states that some work will need to be done on the car, but the starting price is CZK 350,000. With this money today, you can only buy machines, into which you will have to pour hundreds of thousands of crowns. Who wouldn’t want a carriage driven (and flown) by legendary villain Fantomas, right?

Skoda Octavia Combi

There was one Škoda car and it regularly drove at the Mostec autodrome. It was no ordinary Škoda, but a camera car. Originally, this station wagon with a 1.9 TDI engine in Laurin & Klement equipment was used as a launch vehicle at the autodrome, but then the specialists from Benet Automotive converted it into a camera car for filming dynamic shots while driving.

Proceeds from the sale of the camera special will go to charity.

The car, by the way, the only one of its kind, has rebuilt seats, lowered chassis, special paintwork or darkened lamps. It is a fully mobile piece from 2001, the starting price is CZK 1, and the proceeds of the auction will go to charity. After all, they did the same thing with their Octavia RS safety car.

At the Retro Garage, it will be possible to win a nice Škoda 125 with vintage numbers.

The Spring Retro Garage will take place on April 27, 2024 at the Exhibition Center in Lysá nad Labem. The stock exchange starts at eight in the morning, the auction at eleven, while the end of the whole event is planned for the sixteenth hour. At the event, you will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle, where the main prize is a well-preserved Škoda 125 with vintage numbers and the secondary, a nice Jawetta Standard! The entrance fee is CZK 150, children up to 150 cm tall are free.
